Formed in fall 2005, San Japan is a fan-run organization providing an annual anime-focused convention. Join in on the fun yet again when San Japan XII comes to San Antonio on Friday, August 30th!
With over 18,500 attendees in its 11th year, San Japan is the largest fan-run anime convention in South Texas. San Japan brings 3 days of Japanese anime, culture, costume, gaming events, and other fan-run events for a fun-packed event all on the center of the majestic Riverwalk.
This year, San Japan welcomes the Amai Summer Cafe to the convention. The maids and butlers are a colorful, energetic, and creative bunch with eccentric and fun personalities. Come by the cafe and get to know the wonderful cast of maids and butlers! They will be located on the third floor of the Grand Hyatt hotel. There will also be a Plushie Chibi Cafe hosted by the Deadly Sweet Maid Cafe.
In addition, there will be 18+ events which will have special performances specific to the event. Government-issued IDs will be required for all attendees of 18+ sessions in order to attend. Student IDs will not be accepted.
San Japan’s mission is to supply high-quality entertainment and education while fostering a safe and fun environment for all attendees. San Japan strives to cultivate acceptance and appreciation of anime and related fandoms in South Texas.
